The Gulf Coast Sharks will head out on the road to square off against Lourdes Academy at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Gulf Coast comes in on three and Lourdes Academy on ten.
Gulf Coast is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They blew past Riverdale 3-0.
While Gulf Coast won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 26-24, 25-19.

Gulf Coast found their leader in sophomore Andreya Karakosta, who had 12 digs and one assist. Those 12 digs set a new season-high mark for Karakosta.
Gulf Coast was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. They are a perfect 19-0 when they serve at least ten aces.
Meanwhile, Lourdes Academy made easy work of Pembroke Pines Charter on Wednesday and carried off a 3-0 win.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-10, 25-10.
Gulf Coast better focus on containing Lily Garcia and Jenna Acosta as the pair were huge in Lourdes Academy's win. Garcia had six digs and three aces, while Acosta had 15 assists.
Gulf Coast's record is now 22-5. As for Lourdes Academy, their record now sits at an identical 22-5.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Saturday's matchup: Gulf Coast has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 12.3 aces per game. However, it's not like Lourdes Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.2 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
