The Buckeye Hawks''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 49-28 defeat at the hands of Thunderbird. Buckeye was down 42-21 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Buckeye's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Darius Haskin, who picked up 148 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and Ricardo Juarez who threw for 184 yards and two touchdowns.
Elijah Little had a dynamite game for Thunderbird, rushing for 222 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 8.9 yards per carry. Brian Costa also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Buckeye's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Thunderbird, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.
Buckeye will be playing at home against St. Mary's at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Thunderbird, they will head out on the road to face off against Northwest Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Northwest Christian is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
