Silas was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Spanaway Lake apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
When it comes to explaining why Silas lost, one person who can't be blamed is Tyson Parker. Despite the final result, he went 7 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 27 points and 2 assists. Those 27 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Albert Kopec, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.
Spanaway Lake found their leader in underclassman Darius Alexander, who scored 29 points along with six assists and four steals. The match was Alexander's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Jabari Preston was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with seven rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Silas and nudges their season record down to 5-5. As for Spanaway Lake, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4.
Silas will head out on the road to face off against Lincoln at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Lincoln's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. As for Spanaway Lake, they will be playing at home against Lakes at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lakes will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
