The Greenville Classical Academy Lions lost against the New Covenant School Cavaliers back in January of 2020, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Greenville Classical Academy took a 47-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of New Covenant School. Greenville Classical Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Greenville Classical Academy still got an impressive performance from Harris Myers, who scored 27 points. Those 27 points set a new season-high mark for him. Josiah Schvaneveldt was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Greenville Classical Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for New Covenant School, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greenville Classical Academy is on the road again on Monday and play against Bob Jones Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 8th. Bob Jones Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Greenville Classical Academy in South Carolina (Bob Jones Academy is ranked 33rd, while Greenville Classical Academy is ranked 247th). As for New Covenant School, they will head out on the road to face off against Temple Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Temple Christian Academy is coming into the contest hot, having won their last seven games.
