On Thursday, Westside was able to grind out a solid victory over Mundy's Mill, taking the game 37-26.
Taylor Frazier continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 17 rebounds. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Taylor Talton, who scored ten points along with four steals.
Mundy's Mill lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Katelynn Owens, who scored ten points. Owens continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Joshlynn Mcclarin, who scored six points along with six rebounds and three blocks.
Westside is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 5-6 record this season. As for Mundy's Mill, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-5.
Westside's road trip will continue as they head out to face Lamar County at 6:05 p.m. on December 29, 2023. Lamar County will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. Mundy's Mill will finish 2023 at home by hosting Wilkinson County at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
