Softball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Valley View's 11th in Last 12 Outings

Valley View came out on top against West Scranton on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run third inning. The Cougars blew past the Invaders 8-1. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matches by six runs or more this season.

Ella Swingle was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Abbi Call, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Valley View always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .520. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .520 or higher in three consecutive games.

Valley View is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-2-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for West Scranton, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-13.

Coming up, Valley View will challenge Wallenpaupack Area at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for West Scranton, they will square off against Scranton Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Invaders are facing the Cavaliers at the right time seeing as the Cavaliers are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
