The Wakulla War Eagles scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They walked away with a 48-39 win over St. John Paul II. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Wakulla also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Kyendra Thomas continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Amariyah Donaldson, who scored seven points along with ten rebounds and two steals.
Despite the loss, St. John Paul II saw an underclassman step up: Aliyah Medrano dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. Medrano also posted two+ blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Blakely Naumann, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.
Wakulla's win bumped their record up to 4-9. As for St. John Paul II, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.
Wakulla will head out on the road to face off against Wewahitchka at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for St. John Paul II, St. John Paul II and Franklin County will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
