Conestoga's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 62-36 walloping at the hands of Plattsmouth.
Davida Garrett put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored 16 points along with five rebounds and five steals. That's the first time this season that she scored 15 or more points.
Meanwhile, Johnson County Central was beaten by Freeman 48-16 on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Johnson County Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 165th, while Freeman is ranked 41st).
Conestoga's defeat was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-6. As for Johnson County Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-4.
Conestoga didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Johnson County Central in their previous meeting back in January of 2020, but they still walked away with a 52-47 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Conestoga since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
