The Hickory Red Tornadoes scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 107-63 victory over West Iredell on the road. Hickory has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 25 points or more this season.
John Holbrook had a dynamite game for Hickory, scoring 25 points. Izaiah Littlejohn was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Despite the loss, West Iredell still got an impressive performance from Jermaine Cornelius, who scored 29 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cornelius has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of David Bunton, who scored 11 points.
The victory for Hickory keeps them at an undefeated 13-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.2 points per game. As for West Iredell, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hickory will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against St. Stephens at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th. St. Stephens has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for West Iredell, they will head out on the road to challenge East Lincoln at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully East Lincoln focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Tuesday.
