Colorado Academy can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They blew past Forge Christian 52-25 on the road. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-6.
Colorado Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sam Clevenger led the charge by dropping a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Clevenger has scored all season. Naomi Wolff was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with seven steals.
Meanwhile, Peak to Peak didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Kent Denver on Saturday, but they still walked away with a 40-34 win. The win made it back-to-back wins for Peak to Peak.
Peak to Peak relied on the efforts of Megan Wagner, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and four blocks, and Alexandra Eschmeyer, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it ten consecutive games in which Eschmeyer has scored at least a third of Peak to Peak's points.
Colorado Academy is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Peak to Peak, their win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-2.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Colorado Academy hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 53.2 points per game. It's a different story for Peak to Peak, though, as they've been averaging only 47.1 points per game. The only thing between Colorado Academy and another offensive beatdown is Peak to Peak. Will they be able to keep them contained?
