The Concord Spiders won the last time they faced the South Rowan Raiders, and things went their way on Friday too. Concord really took it to South Rowan for the full four quarters, racking up a 85-39 win at home. That 85-39 margin sets a new team best for Concord this season.
Concord got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jeremiah Howard out in front who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds. The match was Howard's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Tyvonta Rushmeyer was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Concord pushed their record up to 8-5 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.4 points per game. As for South Rowan, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-11.
Concord will head out on the road to face off against Central Cabarrus at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Central Cabarrus knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 13 contests -- so hopefully Concord likes a good challenge. As for South Rowan, they will be playing at home against Lake Norman Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lake Norman Charter presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than South Rowan in North Carolina (Lake Norman Charter is ranked 283rd, while South Rowan is ranked 592nd).
