Hauser has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the North Decatur Chargers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hauser will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 350th, while North Decatur is ranked 113th).
Last Thursday, things could have been worse for Hauser, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 48-33 loss to Morristown. Hauser has struggled against Morristown recently, as their game on Thursday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Abby Manley, who scored 11 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Norah Berkenstock, who scored 11 points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, North Decatur waltzed into their match on Thursday with four straight wins but they left with five. They enjoyed a cozy 50-36 victory over Milan.
North Decatur's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jo Whitaker, who scored ten points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Whitaker has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Sydney Rohls, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds.
Hauser has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 14 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season. As for North Decatur, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-6.
Tuesday's matchup is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Hauser have been dynamite from deep this season, having only nailed 30.5% of their threes per game. However, it's not like North Decatur struggles in that department as they've only made 36.2% of their threes per game this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Hauser lost to North Decatur on the road by a decisive 63-49 margin in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. Thankfully for Hauser, Madelyn Bohman (who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds and two steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
