After flying high against Rochester Area HomeSchool on Monday, the First Baptist Crusaders came back down to earth. First Baptist fell just short of Fellowship Baptist Academy by a score of 34-31. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for First Baptist in their matchups with Fellowship Baptist Academy: they've now lost three in a row.
Loss or not, First Baptist got some senior leadership from Owen Nelson who scored 13 points and Levi Borner who scored 8 points. Borner scored a full 25.8% of First Baptist's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Charles Kuenster was another key contributor, scoring 6 points.
First Baptist now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Fellowship Baptist Academy, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-2.
First Baptist will face off against Badger State Baptist at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Fellowship Baptist Academy will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Woodland Baptist Christian at 3:00 p.m. on December 1st. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (Woodland Baptist Christian is ranked 62nd, while Fellowship Baptist Academy is ranked 52nd).
