The Angleton Wildcats pushed their score all the way to 65 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 76-65 to La Porte. While losing is never fun, Angleton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 609th, while La Porte is ranked 304th).
When it comes to explaining why Angleton lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ka'dyine Jones. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Braydon Campbell, who scored 15 points.
Phillip Ned continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for La Porte, scoring 26 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ned has scored all season. Trent Callies was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with seven steals.
Angleton are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-16. As for La Porte, their victory bumped their record up to 17-11.
Angleton will be playing at home against Ball at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for La Porte, they will head out on the road to face off against Friendswood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Friendswood is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.
