If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Hernando. They will look to defend their home turf on Friday against Citrus at 7:00 PM. Hernando are cruising in on a four-game winning streak while Citrus are stumbling in off of four consecutive losses.
Last Friday, Hernando put the finishing touches on their 3rd blowout victory of the season. They steamrollered Lecanto 67-7. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 47-0.
Meanwhile, Citrus came up short against Crystal River, falling 7-20.
Hernando's victory lifted them to 4-0 while Citrus's loss dropped them down to 0-4. In their victory, Hernando relied heavily on senior Israel Fields, who rushed for 168 yards and 3 touchdowns. Citrus will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.
