Shelby Southard was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. Cedar Park Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .513. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Whidbey only posted an OBP of .310.
Cedar Park Christian is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for South Whidbey, their loss dropped their record down to 11-9.
