Dixie County is 9-1 against Bronson since March of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Bronson and Hawthorne meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Thursday. Bronson's pitcher stepped up to hand Hawthorne a 16-0 shutout. With that victory, the Eagles brought their scoring average up to 6.8 runs per game.
Maddie Dean made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Bronson got a massive performance out of Jordyn Paige, who scored two runs and stole Five bases. while going 1-for-1. Those five stolen bases gave Paige a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Makenna Dean, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Bronson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .613. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.
The win got Bronson back to even at 6-6. As for Dixie County, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.
