AAA District 3 recap November 5, 2013
Campbell County extended the longest winning streak in AAA District 3 this week by beating Powell, 26-21. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Cougars.
Campbell County and the Panthers played the most contested game in the league this week, with Campbell County eventually emerging with a 26-21 victory. Ethan Jeffers threw for 207 yards and 2 touchdowns during the win.
Tyler Thackerson threw for 216 yards and 2 touchdowns. He went 22-29 with 2 interceptions.
Matt Fox was a passing and rushing force as Anderson County topped Oak Ridge.
Fox was a beast in the backfield as the Mavericks beat the Wildcats.
Fox was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 268 yards on 29 carries as Anderson County topped Powell.
Clinton's Thackerson and Drake Powell led AAA District 3 in both passing and receiving yards. 6-2 quarterback Thackerson has thrown for 2,724 yards this season, while Powell has 94 catches for 1,028 yards. Davey Gillum's team's Fox leads the league in rushing yards with 2,216.
The Cougars are currently in first, while Gibbs is in fifth.
The Dragons led the league in scoring this week by notching 35 points on Halls. Thackerson ran for 25 yards in the win.
