The Branford Buccaneers put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 59-48 win over Aucilla Christian. Given Branford's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 110th, while Aucilla Christian is ranked 223rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Eli Conrad, who scored 12 points along with 6 rebounds. Benjamin Faglie was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 10 points and 13 rebounds.
Branford's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Aucilla Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Branford will take on Cedar Key at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Cedar Key is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Aucilla Christian, they will be playing at home against Altha at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday.
