The Dunbar Tigers will take on the North Fort Myers Red Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Dunbar is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Lely on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Dunbar had to suffer through a 59-18 loss at the hands of Lely. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-9.

Despite the loss, Dunbar had strong showings from Tatiana Jean-Simon, who posted two points along with four blocks and three steals, and Arnya Jackson, who put up three points and three blocks. Those four blocks gave Jean-Simon a new career-high. Trinity Salines also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.
Meanwhile, North Fort Myers was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 43-38 to North Port.
Despite the defeat, North Fort Myers saw an underclassman step up: freshman Kelley Conley scored 11 points and five rebounds. Those 11 points set a new season-high mark for Conley. Another player making a difference was Bianca Iten, who had four points in addition to six boards and five steals.
Even though they lost, North Fort Myers smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 35 consecutive contests dating back to last season.
Dunbar's loss dropped their record down to 9-12. As for North Fort Myers, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-4.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Dunbar has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 37.7 rebounds per game. However, it's not like North Fort Myers struggles in that department as they've been averaging 38 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Dunbar suffered a grim 41-19 defeat to North Fort Myers when the teams last played back in January of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Iten, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 steals. Now that Dunbar knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
