Warwick has won eight straight games at home, while Penn Manor has won eight straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Monday. The Warriors will host the Comets at 4:15 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
On Saturday, Warwick needed a bit of extra time to put away North Penn. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Knights 3-2.
Kate Shaak spent all ten innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up ten Ks.
On the hitting side, Katie Heisey was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Penn Manor sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 win over Manheim Township on Wednesday.
Penn Manor got a big performance out of Kyleigh Lamborn, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Amelia Trout, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
Warwick is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Penn Manor, their win bumped their record up to 11-7.
Warwick's speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's game. The Warriors have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Penn Manor, though, as they've been averaging only 0.8 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Warwick continue to outrun the ball?
Warwick beat Penn Manor 8-5 when the teams last played back in April. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Comets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
