Softball Recap: Thursday's Loss Ends Baldwyn's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but Baldwyn unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They lost 21-6 to the Wheeler Eagles. The Bearcats were not able to make up for their defeat to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Jana Claire Collins made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.

Baldwyn's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Wheeler, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Baldwyn Bearcats duke it out with Pine Grove Panthers at 10:15 a.m. on March 14th. Baldwyn has given up an average of 12.8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Wheeler, they will face off against Mantachie at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Wheeler is facing Mantachie at the right time seeing as Mantachie is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
