The North Lawndale Phoenix were the 49-46 winner over the Lake View Wildcats when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. North Lawndale took a 50-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lake View on Tuesday. North Lawndale has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Leading Lake View to victory were Jada Marrero and Imariz Duran. Marrero scored 20 points, while Duran scored 23 points. That makes it six consecutive games in which Marrero has scored at least 25% of Lake View's points.
North Lawndale's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Lake View, their win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Lawndale will take on Goode STEM Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lake View, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Von Steuben at 5:00 p.m. Von Steuben will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 553rd, while Lake View is ranked 260th).
