After a string of four wins, Mitchell's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They lost 68-47 to the Perkins County Plainsmen. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 115th, while the Plainsmen are ranked 20th).

Mitchell's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Perkins County, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

Mitchell will look to defend their home court on January 10th against Gordon-Rushville at 7:00 p.m. Mitchell is facing Gordon-Rushville at the right time seeing as Gordon-Rushville is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Perkins County, they are taking a road trip to square off against Leyton at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
