After a string of six wins, The Grady Bronchos''s good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 27-20 to Roy/Mosquero. Grady lost against Roy/Mosquero in their previous head to head back in August, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 60-28 score last time.
When it comes to explaining why Grady lost, one person who can't be blamed is Zane Rush. Despite the final result, he rushed for 86 yards on only nine carries, and also threw for 121 yards and two touchdowns. Alexzander Ciancio also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Roy/Mosquero's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ayden Clavel, who rushed for 95 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries, and also threw for 164 yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Brycen Barnes , who gained 156 total yards and two touchdowns.
Grady's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Roy/Mosquero, their victory was their sixth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 11-0.
Grady does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Roy/Mosquero will stay at home for another week and welcome Gateway Christian at 1:00 p.m. on November 11th. Gateway Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine matchups -- so hopefully Roy/Mosquero likes a good challenge.
