The Ripon Indians put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 60-53 win over Downey. For Ripon, this counts as revenge for the 64-51 defeat Downey walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February.
Dawson Downs was the offensive standout of the contest as he dropped a double-double on 13 points and 10 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Logan Lefebvre, who scored 13 points.
Despite the loss, Downey still got an impressive performance from Reuben Lewis, who scored 26 points along with 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Lewis scored a full 49.1% of Downey's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Collin Eden was another key contributor, scoring 10 points along with 9 rebounds and 6 assists.
Ripon's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points per game. As for Downey, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Coincidentally, Ripon and Downey will both be playing Atwater the next time they take the court. Downey will head out to face Atwater at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Ripon will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
