The St. Stephens Indians will head out on the road to face off against the Maiden Blue Devils at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Bunker Hill scored an imposing 60 points on Friday, St. Stephens still came out on top. St. Stephens escaped with a win against Bunker Hill by the margin of a single free throw, 61-60. The victory was just what St. Stephens needed coming off of a 74-50 defeat in their prior contest.
It was another big night for Javian White, who dropped a double-double on 38 points and 11 rebounds. White set a new season high mark in points with 38. Another player making a difference was Noah VanBeurden, who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, Maiden was able to grind out a solid victory over South Caldwell on Saturday, taking the game 57-44.
St. Stephens' victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points per game. As for Maiden, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
St. Stephens came up short against Maiden in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, falling 57-53. Thankfully for St. Stephens, Jalen Robinson (who scored 18 points along with five rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
