Volleyball Recap: St. Stephens Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses at Home

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Alexander Central, St. Stephens was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top against the Freedom Patriots by a score of 3-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Indians also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2020.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 23-25, 25-15, 26-24.

Addison Granger paced St. Stephens' offense, picking up 25 kills. Granger got some help from Addison Smith and her 39 assists. Smith was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

St. Stephens' win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-5. As for Freedom, their loss was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Stephens will head out to face off against McDowell at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Freedom, they will square off against Wilkes Central at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
