Basketball Game Preview: Cornerstone Christian Chargers vs. Restoration Academy

Cornerstone Christian hasn't had much luck against Restoration Academy recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Cornerstone Christian Chargers will take on Restoration Academy at 5:00 p.m. Cornerstone Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.4 points per game this season.

Last Monday, Cornerstone Christian got the win against North River Christian by a conclusive 68-47.

Zeke Adams continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 34 points and 17 rebounds. His afternoon made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Malachi Adams, who posted 20 points and eight boards.

Cornerstone Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 25 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in 11 consecutive games.

Restoration Academy played in conference for the first time on Monday and they got just the result they we're looking for. They came out on top against Banks Academy by a score of 50-38. The win was all the more spectacular given Restoration Academy's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 224th, while Banks Academy is ranked 104th).

Cornerstone Christian is also on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 4-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points per game. As for Restoration Academy, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.

Cornerstone Christian couldn't quite finish off Restoration Academy in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 and fell 56-54. Can Cornerstone Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
