The South Point Red Raiders will square off against the Huss Huskies at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Thursday, South Point beat Stuart W. Cramer 62-51. Given the Red Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 210th, while the Storm are ranked 451st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

South Point can attribute much of their success to OB Lowery Jr., who posted 20 points, and Jaishawn Woods, who earned 19 points. The game was Lowery Jr.'s fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Landon Hunt, who put up six points.
Meanwhile, Huss didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Kings Mountain on Thursday, but they still walked away with a 75-70 win.
Huss' win came from a few key players South Point will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jaleel Smith, who went 7 of 13 on his way to 19 points in addition to five assists and five steals. Smith is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Antonio Worthy, who went 7 for 12 on his way to 19 points.
Huss was working as a unit and finished the game with 24 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Huss' victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.0 points per game. As for South Point, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as South Point and Huss are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. South Point hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 65.1 points per game. However, it's not like Huss struggles in that department as they've been averaging 65.3 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
South Point came up short against Huss in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 53-43. Will South Point have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more basketball content.
