Basketball Recap: Nevis Skates Past Bertha-Hewitt with Ease

With a playoff win on the line, Nevis rose to the challenge on Thursday. They breezed past the Bertha-Hewitt Bears to the tune of 97-39. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 19 games by 20 points or more this season.

Nevis' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from AJ Bessler, who dropped a double-double with 25 points and 17 boards. Bessler is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Buckholtz, who posted 24 points along with eight boards and three steals.

Nevis is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 86.4 points over those games. As for Bertha-Hewitt, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-20 record this season.

Nevis has already played their next game, a 75-61 victory against Browerville/Eagle Valley on the 7th. Bertha-Hewitt does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
