Berean Christian and the Concord Christian Lions will face off at 6:30 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Berean Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Friday.
Even though Concord Christian scored an imposing 60 points, Berean Christian still came out on top. Berean Christian narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Lions 62-60. The win made it back-to-back wins for Berean Christian.
Berean Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Deonte Smith, who scored 20 points along with seven assists and three steals. Dalton Claiborne was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds.
Berean Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 18 of their last 19 games, which provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season. As for Concord Christian, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-10.
Berean Christian skirted past the Lions 62-60 when the teams last played on Friday. The rematch might be a little tougher for Berean Christian since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
