The Alchesay Falcons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight defeat. They took a 74-59 bruising from Monument Valley. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Alchesay in their matchups with Monument Valley: they've now lost four in a row.
Several Falcons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kamryn Nachu, who scored ten points. Alyssa Jim was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with eight rebounds.
Monument Valley got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Keiryn Mann out in front who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Mann also posted eight assists for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Corey Sandoval, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Alchesay has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-10 record this season. As for Monument Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season.
Alchesay will be playing at home against Ganado at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Alchesay is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 51.4 points per game this season. As for Monument Valley, they will head out on the road to square off against Window Rock at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Window Rock is coming into the matchup with seven straight losses at home, so Monument Valley is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum.
