The Beachside Barracudas had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 37.4 points), and they went ahead and made it nine on Friday. They claimed a resounding 66-22 victory over Providence School at home. Considering Beachside has won eight matchups by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Beachside's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Edward Jordan, who threw for 244 yards and six touchdowns. Jordan is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cade Gines, who rushed for 153 yards on only 14 carries.
Jett Hood and Tiago Tauler certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Hood rushed for 154 yards on only ten carries, while Tauler gained 53 total yards and a touchdown.
Even if they lost, Providence School's defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Beachside's QB won't forget Samuel Peters III anytime soon given Peters III sacked him four times.
Beachside's win was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 9-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.5 points per game. As for Providence School, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-3.
Beachside does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Providence School will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Orlando Christian Prep at 7:30 p.m. on November 17th.
