It was a good run, but the Hondo Owls unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Lytle at home and fell 69-39. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Hondo has suffered yet this season.
Calyssa Sevier continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Lytle, dropping a triple-double on 22 points, 13 rebounds, and ten assists. Sevier is absolutely dominating the point category: she's posted at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season. Aliana Cardenas was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Hondo's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-8. As for Lytle, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season.
Hondo will head out on the road to square off against Natalia at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Natalia focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Tuesday. As for Lytle, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Crystal City at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Crystal City focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 36 last Friday.
