The Evergreen Cougars waltzed into their game on Wednesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They enjoyed a cozy 58-44 victory over Wheat Ridge. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Evergreen also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Evergreen to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rob Beldock, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Lukas McCanna, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Evergreen pushed their record up to 7-11 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.3 points per game. As for Wheat Ridge, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season.
Coincidentally, Evergreen and the Farmers will both be playing the Rams the next time they take the court. Evergreen will host the Rams at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, while the Farmers will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
