The Lockland Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their seventh straight loss. They were outmatched by DePaul Cristo Rey on the road and fell 46-6. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Lockland has scored all season.
Breonna Farley-dawson was Lockland's leading scorer, having posted four points.
Alayah Jefferson held things down on the boards with seven rebounds.
DePaul Cristo Rey found their leader in underclassman Angelina Armstead, who scored 12 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Armstead has scored all season. Jazmin Tubbs was another key contributor, scoring four points along with five rebounds and three blocks.
Lockland's defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-13. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 16.0 points per game. As for DePaul Cristo Rey, their win bumped their record up to 9-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lockland will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against St. Bernard-Elmwood Place at 12:00 p.m. on January 20th. St. Bernard-Elmwood Place is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for DePaul Cristo Rey, they will head out on the road to challenge New Miami at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
