The Verdugo Hills Dons will head out on the road to face off against the Lincoln Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Verdugo Hills focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Friday.
Even though Verdugo Hills has not done well against Poly recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way. Verdugo Hills came out on top against Poly by a score of 51-42.
Verdugo Hills' success was spearheaded by the efforts of Alexander Martinez, who scored 14 points along with 7 rebounds, and Georges Abdulnour, who scored 18 points along with 7 rebounds. The contest was Abdulnour's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Gianmarco Figueroa, who scored 5 points along with 10 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Lincoln was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap last Saturday as they fell 54-49 to Clayton Valley Charter.
Verdugo Hills now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Lincoln, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
