West Broward has gone 8-2 against Cypress Bay recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Bobcats will square off against the Lightning at 6:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
West Broward is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They blew past Goleman 18-2. The result was nothing new for the Bobcats, who have now won 12 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Lundyn Schor-Haskin looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Alivia Artanis was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, five RBI, and two runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. Ava Difato was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs.
West Broward always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .640. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Goleman only posted an OBP of .308.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cypress Bay). Their pitchers stepped up to hand Hialeah Gardens a 19-0 shutout on Monday. The win was some much needed relief for the Lightning as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.
Cypress Bay got a massive performance out of Allena Dinneen, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Jenna Doobrow, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI and three runs.
West Broward is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Cypress Bay, their win bumped their record up to 5-11.
West Broward's speedy runners might be the difference in Wednesday's game. The Bobcats have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Cypress Bay, though, as they've been averaging only 1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will West Broward continue to outrun the ball?
West Broward took their victory against Cypress Bay in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 7-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bobcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
