After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Charlestown, the Borden Braves were happy to have found some success on Saturday. They walked away with a 58-46 victory over Henryville. This was payback for Borden, who suffered a 48-45 loss the last time these two teams met.
Henryville's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aydan Head, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds. Head is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Gavin Cooper, who scored 11 points.
Borden's victory bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Henryville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Borden will take on Orleans at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Orleans is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road. As for Henryville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against South Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in South Central's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five games.
