The Raton Tigers will head out to face off against the Santa Rosa Lions at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Raton came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 22-10 to Robertson. The Tigers' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Santa Rosa came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Rattlers 14-4. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Maddox Lucero was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. Lucero was even better at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.
In other batting news, Santa Rosa got a massive performance out of Andrew Urban, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Those two stolen bases gave Urban a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sean Bonney, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Santa Rosa pushed their record up to 12-3 with the win, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 17.2 runs this season. As for Raton, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9.
Raton suffered a grim 25-8 defeat to Santa Rosa in their previous matchup on April 1st. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
