The Lake Norman Charter Knights will head out on the road to square off against the Robinson Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Lake Norman Charter has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while the Bulldogs will arrive with seven straight victories.
Lake Norman Charter pushed their score all the way to 65 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Carson by a score of 68-65. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (59), Lake Norman Charter still had to take the loss.
The losing side was boosted by Braylon Irelan, who scored 19 points along with five assists. Braden Wilkie was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Meanwhile, even though Northwest Cabarrus scored an imposing 64 points on Friday, Robinson still came out on top. In a tight matchup that could have gone either way, Robinson made off with a 65-64 victory over the Trojans.
Londen Roseman was his usual excellent self, scoring 25 points. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Brian Rowe, who scored 14 points.
Lake Norman Charter has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season. As for Robinson, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-5.
Lake Norman Charter opened the new year with a less-than-successful 79-66 loss to the Bulldogs. Can Lake Norman Charter avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
