The Portal Panthers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They really took it to Savannah Classical Academy for the full four quarters, racking up a 95-45 victory at home. With Portal ahead 50-20 at the half, the match was all but over already.
It was another big night for Joseph Thomas, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds. The contest was his third in a row with at least ten points. Brian McQueen was another key contributor, scoring 19 points.
Portal's win was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.4 points per game. As for Savannah Classical Academy, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.
Portal will head out on the road to face off against Montgomery County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Montgomery County has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 1-2 during that stretch of close contests. As for Savannah Classical Academy, they will be playing at home against McIntosh County Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. McIntosh County Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Savannah Classical Academy in Georgia (McIntosh County Academy is ranked 207th, while Savannah Classical Academy is ranked 552nd).
