The Cumberland Pirates will head out on the road to face off against the Casey-Westfield Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Friday, Cumberland never let their opponents score. They blew past Argenta-Oreana, posting a 40-0 victory at home. The result was nothing new for Cumberland, who have now won four games by 27 points or more so far this season.
Cumberland relied on the efforts of Braydon Olmstead, who threw for 138 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 passes, and Blake Mcmechan, who gained 130 total yards and three touchdowns.
Another reason for the win was Cumberland's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Leading the way was Isaac Venatta and his two sacks.
Meanwhile, Casey-Westfield was not the first on the board last Friday, but they got there more often. They enjoyed a cozy 35-20 victory over Paris. The win made it back-to-back wins for Casey-Westfield.
It was another big night for Connor Sullivan, who rushed for 148 yards and two touchdowns. Sullivan is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last six games he's played.
Cumberland has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Casey-Westfield, their win bumped their record up to 8-1.
