Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Cerritos walked away with it. They blew past the Valencia Tigers 11-1 on Saturday. Considering the Dons have won 11 matchups by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

The win was the eighth in a row for Cerritos, bringing their record up to 16-6. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Valencia, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-12.

Looking ahead, Cerritos will challenge Canyon Springs at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cougars' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the Dons' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Valencia does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
