The Holy Cross Knights had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They had to suffer through a rough 80-50 loss at the hands of Nazareth. Holy Cross found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and rack up nine fewer assists than your opponent.
Despite the loss, Holy Cross still got an impressive performance from Jacob Moreno, who scored 21 points. Avery Taitt-Christina was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 3 steals.
Leading Nazareth to victory were Halon Rawlins and Tristan Rogers. Rawlins scored 20 points along with 3 blocks, while Rogers went 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points and 5 assists. Another player making a difference was Aj Moody, who scored 10 points.
Holy Cross' defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Nazareth, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Holy Cross will take on Cathedral Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Nazareth, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Bishop Loughlin at 6:00 p.m. on December 12th.
