They took down Hackensack 65-50. Given Northern Highlands' advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 44th, while Hackensack is ranked 133rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Northern Highlands got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Freddie Kanning out in front who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Sawyer Chapler was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with six rebounds.
Northern Highlands' win bumped their record up to 12-4. As for Hackensack, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-9.
Northern Highlands will head out on the road to face off against Ramapo at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hackensack, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Glen Rock at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Glen Rock is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road.
