Football Recap: Friday's Victory Is Stringer's Fifth in Last Six Outings

If Richton wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Stringer, they should've done a better job of containing Jaheim Campbell. The Red Devils secured a 34-30 W over the Rebels on Friday thanks in part to Campbell, who rushed for 271 yards and four scores while picking up 7.7 yards per carry. His rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his tenth straight game with at least 105 rushing yards dating back to last season.

When it comes to explaining why Richton lost, don't look at B.J. Brown. Despite the final result, he rushed for 267 yards and four TDs on only 15 carries. Brown is becoming a predictor of the Rebels' success: when he posts at least 80 rushing yards the team is 3-1 (and 1-3 when he doesn't).

Stringer is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 35.7 points over those games. As for Richton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Stringer is set to square off against their familiar foe Lumberton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Richton will challenge rival Taylorsville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
