Softball Recap: Tuckerman Now 14-1 over Last 15 Games

Tuckerman's rock-solid pitchers showed up for the team's sixth consecutive shutout on Friday. They didn't even let the West Memphis Blue Devils on the board, marking the Bulldogs' second-straight 15-0 shutout. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 18 matches by seven runs or more this season.

Emma Davis looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Bristen Wheeler was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three RBI. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Maddyx Soden was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.

Tuckerman always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .567. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Memphis only posted an OBP of .154.

Tuckerman is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games. As for West Memphis, their defeat was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-20.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tuckerman will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Westside at 4:30 p.m. on May 5. The Bulldogs will need to watch out since the Warriors have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games. As for West Memphis, they will challenge Forrest City at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Blue Devils are facing the Mustangs at the right time seeing as the Mustangs are stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
