It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the New Waverly Bulldogs can now relate to. They were dealt a 48-0 defeat at the hands of Daingerfield on Thursday. While losing is never fun, New Waverly can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 771st, while Daingerfield is ranked 297th).
Among those leading the charge was Chase Johnson, who threw for 222 yards and three touchdowns on only 17 passes. Daingerfield also got help from Bubba Hampton who showed off his sure hands for 149 receiving yards.
New Waverly's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Daingerfield, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
New Waverly does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Daingerfield will take on Hooks at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. Hooks is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
